Get Screened to Improve Your Home’s Efficiency
Home improvement can be a tricky business. Especially when big-box stores boast that they specialize in
everything. But how specialized can those stores really be? If you’re looking for exterior screens, contact
Fishell Screen Products—a trusted member of the Surprise business community known for quality
workmanship and honest family services.
Fishell Screen Products is one of the most experienced family-owned and operated screen businesses
in the Northwest Valley. “My mom and dad started the company in 1962,” explains owner David Fishell.
“We were originally in Peoria, but moved to the current location in 1978—when the city of Surprise was exactly
one square mile.”
For over 50 years, Fishell Screen Products has provided quality products and reliable, friendly service.
They are HOA- and PORA-approved, as well as licensed, bonded and insured.
“When you call for an estimate or information, you’ll talk to a Fishell and a Fishell will do the work,” David
says. “My wife, Darlene, runs the office and my brother Steve and I do the installations and manufacturing.
We’re truly a family business.”
David says the Fishell Screen Products process begins with a free in-home estimate. “We do a
lot of retail installations, but we also repair and update existing screening,” he says. “We put out the
best product we can, and we stand behind it with manufacturer and installation warranties.”
Fishell Screen Products specializes in solar screens for windows, screen doors, and screened patios. The
showroom also includes a selection of pet screens, insect screens, security doors and exterior blinds.
The Fishell Screen Products team is highly experienced in the screening business and can help you
select the right products for your home, says David. For example, having higher levels of light blockage might
not be necessary in every situation. “Ninety percent screening blocks out a lot of light, so we generally
recommend 80 percent for average home use,” David explains. “Light colored screens are harder to see
through from the inside out, but they provide better privacy. Windows are darker than walls, so the dark
color seems to maintain the original look of the home. We try to make it clear to people exactly what they
are buying, so they understand how it will work from a visibility and glare standpoint.”
David says screens can enhance the look and improve the energy efficiency of your home. “Screens are
actually one of the most cost-effective things you can do to improve your home,” he says. “When you
measure the cost against the effect, they are highly cost efficient. Sun-screens, when used properly, pay for
themselves in about three years.” Protect your home for summer heat with fixed solar screening from Fishell
Screen Products.
