The SCW Pickleball Club, in partnership with the SCW ALLIANCE of Business and Community, and the Sundome Plaza Merchants, will stage the fourth annual Day for Charity on Saturday, Jan.20, to benefit two important local service groups: SCW Foundation/Helping Hands and the Community Fund of SCW.

The Pickleball Club and its business partners are seeking not only to raise funds, but also to increase public awareness of the vital role these two groups provide to the community.

SCW Foundation serves the community with support for other service organizations, like the SCW Posse, PRIDES and more. Helping Hands serves residents by lending medical and children’s equipment free of charge to those in need, aiding thousands of people each year.

The Community Fund of SCW helps provide financial assistance to SCW Residents who are in need. It is completely private and financial assistance may cover a range of needs: rent, mortgage, ultilities, medical bills and other unexpected expenses. SCW Foundation and SCW PRIDES are separate from the Recreation Centers of Sun City West and PORA, relying only on tax-deductible donations.

Ken Holtz, Pickleball Club Event Director said, “So far we have raise over $42,000 for SCW Service Organizations and our Club of over 1,300 members is proud to be giving back to the community. Pickleball is thriving in Sun City West, and The Day for Charity event is a great way for the whole community to have fun, win prizes, and raise funds for two very worthwhile organizations.”
