Owners, Dr. Ann Carvell and Shawn Smith have a strong background in veterinary medicine and have both worked protecting animals in Arizona. Prior to opening Purrfurred Pets Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Ann worked in private practice and emergency clinics, and was the Director of Veterinary Medicine in one of Arizona’ s largest Humane Societies, and Shawn was the Animal Control Director, as well as Executive Director at the same organization.

Both Dr. Ann and Shawn are Vets! Dr. Ann graduated Purrfurred Pets Veterinary Clinic from Mississippi State University, receiving her DVM in 2007. Shawn proudly served 24 years in the Marines. 

The team at Purrfurred Pets Veterinary Clinic are simply passionate about pets as well as pet overpopulation. Purrfurred Pets Veterinary brick and mortar clinic focuses on pet wellness including wellness exams, microchipping, vaccinations, surgery and oral care. Purrfurred Pets Veterinary Clinic also provides spay/neuter services at both their Surprise location and in their mobile clinic. Since opening two years ago, Purrfurred Pets has spayed/neutered over 10,000 pets throughout Maricopa and Pinal Counties.
