Liberty Home Products Keep You Out of the Sun

March 2014

Is your home prepared for the blazing Arizona sun this summer? Valley residents are turning to shade products, such as retractable awnings and patio covers, to provide some relief from the heat. Local shade products manufacturer Liberty Home Products can help you choose the best fit for your needs while staying within your budget.

Liberty Home Products began as a small mom-and-pop store in Denver in 1979 by Richard Mahon. Mahon, a U.S. Air Force veteran trained in aircraft instrument repair, engineered all the of store's products himself. In 2001, he expanded the business to Phoenix with help from his daughter, Amy Huette.

"My husband and I moved to Phoenix right after our honeymoon," says Amy, who co-owns Liberty Home Products with her husband, Frank Huette. "We started in a storage shed. Frank did the installations and I was the office manager."

Since then, Liberty Home Products has been successful, and the company continues to grow. "We had one Yellow Pages ad and waited for the phone to ring," says Amy. "Now we have an 8,000-square-foot factory and showroom!"

Liberty Home Products boasts a large range of shade products, including patio sun and wind screens, retractable awnings, lattice patio covers, retractable solar shades, patio furniture, and shade sails. These and other products can be viewed at the company's showroom, located at 5621 S. 24th St. in Phoenix. All of Liberty's products carry a lifetime warranty and competitive pricing, says Amy.

"Our products are designed and manufactured onsite here in Phoenix," says Amy. "This speeds up the entire process since we're not dealing with outside sources. It also saves money for both us and the customer."

In addition to selling and installing shade products, Liberty Home Products also performs repairs and re-covers, even on products purchased from another company. "Our staff is equipped to handle any shade covering products," says Amy. "We have a rigorous hiring process and employees are skill tested in their area of expertise. Depending on the time of year, we have anywhere between 15 and 20 employees that we love!"

Liberty Home Products always makes a point to provide its customers with great service and a great product, which has made a big impact on their business, notes Amy. "Our customers are very pleased with their purchases and refer us to their friends and family," she says. "Referrals and repeat customers account for more than half of our business."

Not sure which shade product is best for your home? Amy says Liberty Home Products has a solution for virtually any situation.

"Our employees bring photo and material samples to your home and help you decide what is best for your needs and your budget," Amy explains. "Now is a great time to order before the summer sun arrives! Give us a call for a free in-home estimate."

If you live in an area with a homeowners association (HOA), don't let that deter you from purchasing shade products, says Amy. "The staff at Liberty Home Products will do everything they can to help you get a shade product approved by your HOA," she says. "We put together a packet that includes a letter from the company explaining who we are and our services. Samples of the fabric and photos of the products that would be used are included, as well."

Amy adds that the sales staff at Liberty Home Products understands what is HOA-friendly and are very knowledgeable on the subject.

The Liberty Home Products showroom is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment only on Saturday. You can also check out Liberty Home Products at the Maricopa County Home and Landscape Show that will be held May 2-4 at the Arizona State Fairgrounds in Phoenix.

Liberty Home Will Have You Made in the Shade

By Carisa Frisby

Finding a quality product that will provide shade from the unforgiving sun is not an easy task. When you do find one, often you're left with the daunting chore of measuring and installing the product yourself, while wondering if you received a fair price and if the product will last. Liberty Home Products can take the worry and hassle out of shading your home.

Family-owned and operated in Phoenix for more than 10 years, Liberty takes pride in their products, which range from retractable awnings, solar shades and patio screens (that can block up to 95 percent of direct sunlight and wind) to window awnings and lattice structures. They have also recently begun selling shade structures and shade sails.

"All of our items are not only made in the United States, but are designed and manufactured onsite in Phoenix," says Amy Huette, co-owner and office manager at Liberty. "All of the components are available right here in the Valley, so there is no waiting on shipments and delivery from outside sources, which means better and quicker service to the customer."

Liberty Home Products not only sells shade, but they also performs re-covers and repairs on items that might have been purchased from a different company, explains Huette. Because Liberty manufactures their products with state-of-the-art automated equipment, their prices have always remained very competitive.

"We've cut out the middle man. This not only saves us money, but the customer saves money as well," explains Huette.

In addition, Liberty products carry a lifetime warranty. "It's not just someone else's warranty that we're passing on, we are backing it," says Huette.

Huette says that Liberty customers have been quite pleased with their purchases, adding that they have referred Liberty products to their friends and family. "Repeat customers and referrals account for more than half of our business," says Huette.

If you live in an area with a homeowners association (HOA), this should not deter you from purchasing shade products. In fact, says Huette, Liberty will offer to put together a packet that customers can submit to their HOA. The packet I would include a letter from Liberty explaining who they are and the services they offer, as well as samples of the fabric and photos of the products that would be used. "Our sales staff are very knowledgeable and understand what is HOA-friendly," says Huette.

Liberty Home Products is located at 5621 S. 24th St. in Phoenix. The showroom is open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturday by appointment only. You may set up a free in-home estimate by calling 623-486-2816 or by visiting their website at www.libertyhomeproducts.com.

You can also check out the Liberty Home Products display booth at the Maricopa County Home and Landscape Show at the Arizona State Fairgrounds in Phoenix that will be held Sept. 28-30. Either way, the sooner you contact Liberty Home Products, the sooner you can really enjoy the Arizona weather.

Liberty Home Products Provides Top-QualityShade Products for Enjoying the Desert Sun

By Carisa M. Frisby

Finding a quality product that will provide shade in the hot, unforgiving desert sun is not an easy task. When you do find one, often you are left with the daunting chore of measuring and installing it yourself while wondering if you received a fair price and if the product will last. Liberty Home Products can take the hassle and worry out of shading your home.

Family owned and operated in the Phoenix area for 10 years, Liberty takes pride in their products which range from retractable awnings, solar shades and patio screens (that can block up to 95 percent of direct sunlight and wind) to window awnings, lattice structures and even items for your RV such as sun screens, shades and wheel covers. "All items are not only made in the USA, but are designed and manufactured on site right here in Phoenix," says Amy Huette, owner and office manager. "All of the components are available right here in the Valley, so there is no waiting on shipments and delivery from outside sources, which means better and quicker service to the customer," she adds.

"What attracted me to the company," says sales associate Michael Polzer, enthusiastically, "is that the product is made in America by Americans!"

Liberty Home Products not only sells shade, but also services, re-covers and repairs items you may have bought from a different company. "The item does not have to have been bought from Liberty for us to service or repair it," Amy states proudly.

Because Liberty manufactures their products with state-of-the-art automated equipment, prices are very competitive. "We have cut out the middle man," Michael remarks.

"It not only saves us money, but also the customer as well." On top of their already low prices, right now Liberty Home Products is offering an additional 10 percent off all patio sun and windscreens and 30 percent off retractable awnings.

And since they are the ones who make the product, they are the ones who stand behind the product. "Our products carry lifetime warranties," Amy says.

"It's not just someone else's warranty that we are passing on, we are backing it," Michael adds.

As a testament to how confident and pleased customers are with their purchases, they are referring Liberty Home Products to friends and family. "Prior customers and referrals are over half of our business," boasts Amy.

If you live in an area with a Home Owner's Association (HOA), this should not deter you. Liberty Home Products provides customers with a packet to submit to your HOA. The packet includes a letter from Liberty explaining who they are and what they do. It also includes samples of the fabric and photos of the products that will be used on your home. "Our sales people are very knowledgeable and know what is HOA friendly," Amy says.

Liberty Home Products is currently located in Phoenix at 4012 E Broadway Rd., Suite 310, but they will soon be moving into a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. "Our showroom is open from 9 a.m. to 3p.m. Monday through Friday," Amy informs. Saturdays are by appointment only.
